Motivation

What seems like a "Dream" can one day become a reality all you have to do is have ambition and determination no matter what the next person says. People will always try to find a way to be little you; just stay focused on your goals and not the negativity! I believe whole heartedly that what is meant to be will be no matter what obstacles come your way. Stay strong and you will start to see the changes just continue to put your all into your future; because if you don't nobody else will!!!! #ambition #motivation #determination #success

Simply Me

For years I tried to do things because people made fun of who I was...told me I was too good, too quiet, not social and I have also been told I act like a white girl...well I say to you that sit back and judge me; THANK YOU for seeing all the those awesome things in me that I didn't see at the time...me being a good person is what God wanted from me this whole time, me being quiet gave me plenty of time to sit back and observe the world so that I can make the right decisions for MY LIFE..me not being a social butterfly has allowed me to avoid FAKE ASS DRAMA FILLED PEOPLE AND KEPT ME OUT OF JAIL and lastly me acting like a "white girl" as some call it was me opening my mind to endless possibilities; I didn't limit myself to what a African American girl/woman should be like, I didn't allow myself to become another statistic or stereotype I made my own destiny. ..so while it hurt my feeling before and made me want to change to fit in; I am actually glad I have all those qualities because I know I will always be OK no matter what as long as I keep putting me & my family first and block out all negativity from my life; I don't think I am better than the next person but I do believe me and my little family deserve to live the best life we possibly can...#NO #REGRETS because I can look back at my life and say I have achieved all my goals through the grace of GOD and I am who he made me to be!!!!!

FAITH

FAITH
By SunShyne B.

When things seem to be falling apart right in front of my face... still I have Faith;
At times I feel like its all just a waste but still I have Faith,
I have Faith that I will get through any and everything that comes my way;
I want to give up I want to cry but I know that won't change a thing; my Faith is the only thing that
will allow me to press on if the lord allows me to see another day;
I want to scream I want to shout but if I'm a believer what's all that about?
At times I feel angry; at times I feel sad but still I have Faith that my life isn't all bad;
I don't believe my life is in vain and only through Faith can I escape this pain;
My heart gets heavy my body gets weak yet I still must believe;
One day this pain will be gone then I can look back and say "Never not ever did I give up on my FAITH".

Wait What Did You Just Say???

Living in a state that is filled with people that have migrated from different areas of the world a.k.a. "The Transplants" have taught me a lot; but the things that stick out to me the most are Accents, Food, Holidays and Driving! Yes I said it....lol.

1. Every place has it's own lingo and so does every area of the region. I get it all the time people say "hey where are you from?" When I reply Boston. They usually say "you don't sound like your from Boston" so in return I say "what does a person from Boston sound like" Then I get the whole "PAK YA KHA" thing.... translation:" Park your car" and it drives me crazy because not everyone from Boston has the same accent and most people that claim they are from Boston really live in the suburbs not in the inner city. So I believe when it comes to an individuals accent it depends on where they were raised and who raised them.

2. Food is completely different depending on what you are use too, sometimes its even hard to find certain spices and ingredients that I am use to cooking with because the demographics here isn't large. White, Black and Mexican dominate my area so the spices I would normally use to make a West Indian dish are not available.

3. People celebrate holidays differently! In some parts of the world the make a big fuss over the holidays but in some cases people don't acknowledge holidays at all.

4. People's driving skills are different and I am noticing NO MIDDLE FINGERS or HONKING so that will keep you out of trouble.

Don't be afraid to take a chance and relocate just know that these 4 things are going to vary depending on where you go but they will always determine how well you adapt to your new surroundings!

It's Ok To Let It Go

On a daily basis I talk to people that are stressed out and frustrated over other people's issues. I am guilty of doing this myself. The way I am learning to see it is; if we care enough about our loved ones to carry their stress why shouldn't they care enough to act right! Well that is because we can not control other people and their actions; as people we only know to do the thing that are installed in us over the years; so we tend gravitate towards habits we pick up along the way. Life is a learning experience for us all and everyone learns in a different way and at a different pace; you can not force someone to live the way you want them too. It is not fair to get upset at someone because you chose to make their burden your own. Some times we think we are helping people by telling them how they should live their lives, but in all reality we are pushing them further away. Nobody wants to be told how they should live their life; especially when they are probably just getting by on THEIR best. Life is already a heavy load and when you start piling up other people's burdens on your shoulders you begin to weaken and before you know it; your world comes tumbling down! I have carried the stress of people before and I ended up missing out on a lot; I couldn't even recognize my own happiness. There is nothing wrong with helping people or being a shoulder to cry on but once that conversation is over, you need to drop down and give it to God; that way it is not your worry. We all have issues that we deal with and will need a vent person but what good are they to us if they are so stressed and weak from all the burdens they carry around. Learning how to let go of the burden doesn't mean you don't love them; it just means that you are growing and allowing yourself to enjoy life. So take a deep breath and let it go!

A Mother's Strength

From the time we hear those words "Your Pregnant" we form an instant bond with our children even before we know their names or how they look. Then we have the pleasures of hearing that rapid tiny heart beat that lets us know this life that we created is for real. We bond with our tiny creations through food and talking to our bellies until our little ones arrive. The easy part is loving them because that love is instant and unconditional from the beginning. The hard part is watching them suffer knowing it is out of your control and in the hands of another person. All you can do is hope and pray that they will care for your child as you would.

We are tested time after time as mothers and I believe there is a strength that a mother has that is rare. To endure so much yet be able to go on through life with your head held high knowing that you are truly suffering inside takes a lot of strength. I know mothers that have buried their child yet they still must smile and go on day by day, I know mothers that have lost their child before they were able to bring them into this world yet they still must smile and go on day by day, I know mothers that have lost their child to drug addiction or alcoholism yet they still must smile and go on day by day, I know mothers that have lost their child to a life of crime so they are sitting in jail yet those mothers still must go on day by day with a smile. I know mothers that know their child is in an unhealthy relationship and as scared as she is for her child she must still smile and go on.

No mothers lost is greater than the next, no mothers pain when watching her child suffer is greater than the next yet we all must put on our capes and be the strong individuals God created us to be.

As a mother it hurts to watch my son suffer; from the time he was born it has been one thing after the next. First he almost died during delivery doctors cut him out so fast they actually cut his face, if they didn't do it fast we both would have died; when he was 5 years old he formed a lump on his stomach they ruled out hernia and after several test doctors never figured out what caused it, I was so stressed I started grinding my teeth in my sleep and in returned formed TMJ (locked jaw) I thought I was handling the stress well because I continued to work, go to school and just live life daily all while secretly suffering inside; I got tired of paying medical bills without having answers so I took him home and prayed, prayed, prayed and prayed some more and that lump went away after a few days; the following year he was diagnosed ADD, a year after that he was diagnosed with protrusion of the eye and this year he was diagnosed with a learning disability so it has become mentally exhausting and then to have to handle all this alone is truly a test of my Faith and Strength. I put on a strong face and front because I have to be strong for him and my family but when I'm all alone I cry and pray for understanding! At times I want to yell "why my baby boy" but I know that is not something a person with Faith would do; so I just wait because I know God knows what he is doing and I can't live my life based off fearing the unknown so I smile and go on day by day.

 I know there is another mother out there somewhere suffering as I am, and I know she may be feeling like giving up just as I have felt many times; but I am here to tell you "A Mother's Strength is a Gift from God". You might not understand why you and your child have to endure this pain and suffering , you might be feeling like it's just not fair but when you are have those feelings just remember "each day that you go on with a smile on your face you are inspiring another mother to do the same". As mothers we have an unbelievable strength and it's something that can't really be described in words only through actions and it is important for us to continue to share our testimonies with other mothers so that they can embrace their "Superpowers" aka "Mommy Strength" because without a Mother's Strength this world world be at a loss. So I embrace my "Mommy Strength" and will continue to fight for answers, support my children and do it all with a smile day by day.

Our Babies

Our Babies

Parents we need to know & understand the pain we afflict on our children! The not loving them, the mental, emotional & physical abuse affects them. The not telling them you love them affects them.

The neglect it affects them. The sexual abuse it affects them. The drug abuse it affects them. The not hugging them affects them. Not praising them when they do good affects them. The constantly putting them down affects them.

Understand that we have a responsibility when we choose to have children especially when they don't ask to be here! Nobody has to have children it is a choice you make & a beautiful gift from God so why would you want to ruin such a beautiful gift?????

 To all the children out there know that you are loved by SunShyne B.

Please love your children unconditionally and encourage them to be the best they can be; stop taking your anger & frustrations out on these poor innocent babies & making them hate themselves!

Honesty with Children

Good Morning,

The other day my 10 year old son asked me what a yeast infection was, so I explained it to him and let's just say he regreted asking...lol. Gotta LOVE those Monistat 7 commercials at 6am.

I believe in keeping it honest with my children because I don't want them growing up with a false sense of what the world is really like.

Some people disagree with my parenting saying that I am taking the innocence away from them but I disagree. I don't want my children thinking babies come from a STORK I need them to understand that babies come from 2 people having sex.

However I do believe in letting them enjoy their childhood so I did tell them about the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause & the Tooth Fairy but once they started getting suspicious and asking questions I simply explained that it is a tradition that families pass on generation to generation to make their childhood fun! I also explained to them the real reason Christmas is celebrated and that it isn't just about getting gifts and you know what they seemed to understand that more than a Jolly fat guy breaking into our house at night to leave gifts.

I feel that at times we underestimate our children, we forget they are just little versions of us! I believe being honest with them will not set them up for failure or lead them to look at us as liars as they start learning life lessons; instead they can say well mom & dad did say that.

There are times when they question what we are telling them but in that case I just tell them TIME will show you!

I can't tell anyone how to parent their child because each situation is different but I can speak from expirence when I say it's not fun growing up and realizing a lot of stuff you were told was just made up because adults found it too hard to explain the truth.

Some people fear telling their children about how they were as kids or teens in some false hope that they will turn out better; well sorry to burst your bubble but the truth of the matter is you share the same DNA so even if you hide it they will eventually show your traits and wonder why they act and feel the way they do. I feel it will cause more harm for a child to feel isolated and misunderstood when the whole time you could have just been honest and said you know what at that age I acted the same way; at least they will feel connected to you in some way and understand that they are not just a screw up. We all try to figure out why we are the way we are and we all feel better when we know there is someone else out there that is like us and there is no stronger similarity than with a parent & child. So please think about telling them the truth the next time they come to you because they may already know the answer yet they are testing you to see if you will be honest to them the way you PREACH for them to be honest with you.

I was once asked "But what if they throw it back in your face" well at the end of the day I don't regret anything about my life because it made me the woman I am today, so if they chose to throw things in my face im sure it will hurt but at least I know I was always HONEST with them. I would rather them throw my truth at me than to be disappointed and upset because they felt everthing I ever told them was a lie.

We all know that the truth eventually comes out it's just better if they hear it from YOU!

Always Keeping it Real- SunShyne B.
