The Wrongfully Convicted

My times throughout our lives we are wrongfully convicted and it starts with our parents who are always assuming the worst no matter what you say. You miss curfew and come home late, you say "I was out hanging with friends and lost track of time" they say "You were out there doing stuff you ain't got no business doing and ruining your life".

When the truth of the matter is you were just hanging with your friends doing silly stuff like dressing up in goofy clothes and dancing to one hit wonders. Or perhaps were just playing video games and was in the middle of a match that you truly didn't want to lose yet despite your honesty you are being told your a liar. I don't know about you but I have been in this situation plenty of times. Where I was constantly told I was out screwing around with boys and the truth of the matter was I was still a virgin so imagine how it made me feel to basically be called a whore when I was simply trying to have fun with my friends and boys were no where on my mind at the time. It made me feel like f*ck it, if I'm going to get in trouble for it I may as well be doing it. Wrongfully convicting someone can completely change their way of thinking so be careful what you say to your children because your words affect them more than you know.

Being "Wrongfully Convicted" in a Marriage or Relationships can lead to infidelity and can ruin what was once a happy stable relationship.

Being "Wrongfully Convicted" on the job because of jealous co-workers because they desire to have your spot can lead to someone losing their job. Sometimes just having a great work ethic can cause your co-workers to secretly have animosity and cause them to try to get you fired.

Out of all the situations that you can be "Wrongfully Convicted" of this has to be the worst and most damaging. Being "Wrongfully Convicted" of a crime you didn't commit can ruin your life. It is something that will stay on your record, it is something that can cause you to lose your job, lose your family and most of all it can cause you to lose your "FREEDOM". People seem to brush this one off the most like "oh well it was a mistake" but they don't talk about or show is what it takes to rebuild your life after being "Wrongfully Convicted".

I felt it was important to talk about the "Wrongfully Convicted" because sometimes we make decisions without having all the facts and although we may think it isn't harmful there are people who suffer the consequences of  our quick judgments and assumptions. Please share this blog with others to bring awareness to the fact that we are just too quick to judge and convict people without taking the time to value what they are telling us. Yes there are liars in the world but not everyone is a liar. Yes there are cheaters in the world but not everyone is a cheater. Yes there are employees that are slackers and deserve to be fired but that isn't the case for someone who just is great at their job and take pride in doing well. Yes there are criminals in this world but in some cases it may just be an honest mistake.

So, please take the time to review the situation before you "Wrongfully Convict" someone and ruin their life.  -SunShyne B
